I am sure many of us experienced
dates where you're just not interested. Maybe it was a blind date
or perhaps you found something on the second date that made you say
"no thanks, not the one". |
What makes this date worse is
the other person still has interest in you and no matter how hard you try
they just don't get the hint.
Rejection can be a hard thing
to face, so you should put them down gently. Here's are some ways to give
strong signs that you're not interested without hurting their egos or
feelings.
1)We all know that the question is gonna pop up. You know what i am talking
about the famous "What do you look for in guy/girl?". Here's
your chance to tell them that their not the one. Be sure, to give examples
that are opposite of your partner. Examples: "I like tall guys, they
have to be at least 5'11" for me to be attracted to them" -when
your date is like 5'5".
2) If you have a friend or date that likes you but you don't feel the
same way here's a good way to show signs of it. The classic "I look
at you like a sister/brother." Another good one is "I see you
more as a friend." This way they have no room to get mad at you.
Matter of fact they still feel special that they think of them in such
a manner.
3)Sometimes honestly can be good. Express how you can't find a relationship
in your life because of how difficult your life is. Good examples:"I
am so busy with my career". This gives you more room to get distant
from your date.
Some people can't take no for
a answer. They might know that your not interested yet they still try
to catch your interest. In times like these, you have to take a more direct
approach.
1) I know this can be rude but its the ultimate killer in dates. Check
out other people around you while your with your date. Make sure they
are watching yet pretend you don't notice them watching. Hopefully then
they will back off.
2)Silence is a good key to distance yourself from your date. Keep the
answers short to "yes" or "no". Eventually they will
stop asking questions. This is a good way to stop them from starting conversations.
3)Keep looking at your watch.
You should state that you need to head home early because of .....well
make some excuse.
4)At the end of the date, express
how the night was interesting and hope that they don't mention a second
date. If they do mention it, don't say no that's too harsh. Let them know
that you'll try but its unlikely because of your schedule or some other
excuse you can think of.
These techniques will help
you let your date down easily with no feeling of guilt yet no chains attached
after the date is done. I am sure eventually you will find the perfect
date but until then try these techniques.
